Seaford Community Preschool
4 Year Old Program
The overall goal of the four year curriculum is to prepare the child socially, emotionally and intellectually for Kindergarten, to develop the child's self-esteem, to foster a sense of competence and help the child develop a love of learning. We also strive to help each child develop healthy and strong emotional and social attitudes in relation to separation from their parents, group participation, sharing and taking turns. Our program focuses on early language and literacy development, pre-writing, math and science. Art activities focus on each child's creative expression. Children have daily opportunities to develop fine motor skills through drawing, crafts, painting and manipulating many different small objects. Children spend time everyday on our fenced outdoor playground that is specially designed to promote all aspects of good physical development. On rainy days we have a large indoor playroom available. Children develop self-help skills throughout the day by choosing and directing many of their activities, dressing and undressing themselves, putting away their materials and toys and cleaning up their snack tables.
Summer Camp Program
Our summer camp is a 6 week program that takes place during
June, July and August.
"Adult & Me" (Two by Two) Program (18 - 30 Months)
The "Adult & Me" (Two by Two) program is for all loving caregivers and their 18-30 month old infant/toddler. Whether it's Mommy and Me, Daddy and Me, Grandparent and Me or Nanny and Me, this class is an opportunity to allow the caregiver to connect and bond with the child in a social environment. Our classes promote the exciting development of essential life skills, while providing you and your child with a great space to play, move and grow together. The "Adult & Me" Program philosophy stems from the knowledge that when grown-ups and children play together, it fosters the development of social skills, builds confidence and enhances children's sense of self. Toilet training is not required for this class.
